Medical emergencies can occur anytime, and that’s why one doesn’t need to get training while performing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation at a crisis. You must have known about the cases when a person falls unconscious, and no one can do anything other than calling the medical help, but you shouldn’t make this mistake when you can perform CPR on a fundamental level. When a person gets unconscious and not breathing, one can’t go ahead to get training of CPR, but you need to be confident, and you can undoubtedly perform the CPR steps.
Things to consider before CPR
Before performing CPR, you need to throw some drops of water on the person’s face to check if he/she will wake up with it. If this doesn’t help, then you should grasp the patient and shake him/her briskly. Make sure that you don’t spend much time on this and call the medical help as immediately as you can. You need to check the breathing of the patient, and if the person isn’t breathing in less than 9-10 seconds, then you should begin CPR.
Begin CPR procedure
If you want to know what the steps of CPR are, then you can do it quickly as these are the main steps to do CPR on a person:
• First of all, you need to call the ambulance before you do CPR on the victim because you might not be able to treat the person if you haven’t got training for CPR. So, it will be better that you call for help before you start your efforts.
• You need to do pushing on the chest by keeping your hands at the center of the person’s chest. You need to start shaking harder and faster every second and these chest compressions will help move the blood into the brain so that it stays alert till heart starts doing its work again. It is essential that the blood keeps flowing without any interruption. Make sure that your hands don’t bounce when you are pushing and compressing the chest. You have to lift the full body weight from the body of the patient when you are compressing.
• If you feel comfortable, then you can give rescue breaths to the person, and if it is the only option, you should do it. You need to push the chest for around 25-30 times, and then you will have to give two rescue breaths to the other person. Until ambulance arrives, you need to keep performing these steps till patient gets conscious.
So, these are the ways to perform CPR when you want to help the patient until help arrives. Even if you haven’t got training, you can continue pushing the chest as it can also make a big difference. Always make sure that you don’t keep waiting for help but try to help the person instead. You can make a person get conscious with these easy CPR steps as you can do this much from your side.
