Sacramento Gold Soccer Team

On a very windy Saturday evening the 2010 NPSL Sacramento Gold Soccer team beat the North Coast Tsunami by a score of 1 to 0. The Gold’s only goal of the evening was scored by John Jones off a throw in from Bo Fonseca in the 59th minute. With this win, the Gold remains in first place in the Northern Division of the Western Conference.
The Gold’s next game is next game is next Saturday, June 16th at Kezar Stadium in San Francisco.

Suffering its first loss of the season, the Sacramento Gold fell by a score of 4 to 1 to the Sonoma Sol. The Sol scored their goals in the 29th, 40th, 44th and 54th minutes. The Gold’s lone goal was scored by John Jones in the 84th minute off an assist by Abrahm Prado.
The Gold’s next game is May 6, 2012 against Real San Jose at 7:00 p.m. at the River City High School Stadium.

2010 National Premiere Soccer League Champions
April 13, 2011- Sacramento CA.- The defending National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) Champions Sacramento Gold FC (1-0-0) will be hosting their first home game of the season on Sunday April 17, 2011 at River City High School, located at 2801 Jefferson Blvd in West Sacramento California 95691. They will be playing Hollywood United FC (1-0-1). Kick-off is scheduled for 6 pm.
Sacramento Gold FC returns home after a 4-1 road win over Bay Area Ambassadors (0-0-2). The team is led by new head coach Ruben Mora JR. Sacramento Gold also boasts the 2010 NPSL Golden Boot winner (leading goal scorer in the Country) Manolo Piña. During the off season Sacramento Gold added mid-fielder Fernando Cabadas to the roster. Cabadas, an ex-Sacramento State standout is back home after a stint with the New England Revolution of Major League Soccer.
Hollywood United FC is coached by Jose Botello. After spending a few seasons in the Premier Development League (PDL), Hollywood United FC joined the National Premier Soccer League in 2011. They will travel to Santa Rosa, CA. on Saturday April, 16, 2011 to play the Sonoma County Sol before traveling to Sacramento on Sunday to face Sacramento Gold FC.
The Sacramento Gold will be holding a ceremony in honor of Sacramento Gold FC founder Richard Novoa before the game. Novoa passed away in February 2011.
Gates open at 3p.m. and general admission tickets are $5 dollars for adults and children under 6 are free. Parking is free and the snack bar will be open.

Sacramento Gold FC is part of the National Premier Soccer League. They compete in the West Division against Hollywood United FC, Bay Area Ambassadors FC, Real San Jose, Santa Ana Winds, FC Hasental, SD Flash, Sonoma County Sol, Rattlers FC, San Diego Boca FC. This highly competitive league helps all the teams gain access to elite players to fill their team roster, including but not limited to National Team, former and current University and College, foreign, amateur, former professional and youth players. All current NCAA players will be able to play soccer at an elite level and continue to maintain their eligibility, while incoming NCAA players can impress college scouts and coaches alike.
