The Sacramento Gold traveled to Rancho Cotati High School today to meet the Sonoma Sol and lost by a score of 4 to 2. The Gold had a strong first half with Miguel Aguilar scoring his first goal in the 8th minute and another goal in the 45th minute.

The Sol, however, came back strong in the second half with Ross Middlemiss scoring a hat trick with three goals. The Sol’s fourth goal was scored by David Menedez.

The Gold comes back for a home game next Saturday July 7th at River City High School Stadium in West Sacramento at 7:00 p.m.

Traveling to San Francisco once again, the Sacramento Gold battled hard against the Bay Area Ambassadors, only to lose in extra time by a score of 1 to 0. The Ambassador’s goal was scored by Brian Walie.

The Gold travels to Sonoma for its next game, Saturday, June 30, 2012 against the Sonoma Sol.

Traveling to San Francisco, the Sacramento Gold lost to the San Francisco Stompers by a score of 1 to 0. The Stompers scored the game’s only goal early in the second half and then held off the Gold to secure the win.

The Gold’s next game is next Saturday, June 23, 2012 against the Bay Area Ambassadors.

Traveling to Southern California, the Sacramento Gold lost to FC Hasenthal (Simi Valley) by a score of 5 to 1.  The Gold’s only goal came in the 75th minute when Jose Mendoza found the back of the net off an assist by Manolo Pina.

The Gold’s next game is next Sunday, May 20, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the River City High School Stadium in West Sacramento, when the Gold meets the San Diego Boca.

Gold’s First loss of the NPSL Season

Suffering its first loss of the season, the Sacramento Gold fell by a score of 4 to 1 to the Sonoma Sol. The Sol scored their goals in the 29th, 40th, 44th and 54th minutes.  The Gold’s lone goal was scored by John Jones in the 84th minute off an assist by Abrahm Prado.

The Gold’s next game is May 6, 2012 against Real San Jose at 7:00 p.m. at the River City High School Stadium.
