March 31, 2012

Playing a man down for 60 minutes against the Bay Area Ambassadors, the 2010 National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) Champions Sacramento Gold came back from a one-goal deficit to tie the game 1-1 on Manolo Pina’s goal in the 82nd minute. But a victory wasn’t to be for the Gold, despite several good chances in the closing minutes. The game went directly from regular time to penalty kicks where the Ambassadors prevailed, 5-4 sending them into the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Tournament and eliminating the Gold. The Ambassadors regular time goal was scored by Brayan Walle in the 64th minute.

The Gold’s next game is against the North Coast Tsunami at the College of the Redwoods in Eureka next Saturday, April 7, at 1 p.m. The Gold’s next home game is on April 15th against the San Francisco Stompers at 7 p.m. at the River City High School Stadium in West Sacramento.
